Android phones and tablets

Henry, the Cursor Saves the Ducks is made by Jon Claude Haines at jonclaude.net. The Android edition works offline and does not require an account. Game resources are bundled with the app. This edition has no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDK, online leaderboard, Google Play Games integration, Game Center or in-game cloud synchronization.

Adventure saves, checkpoints, local high scores and initials, personal best times, and settings stay on this device. The game keeps a local recovery copy of saved progress and does not send this game data to the developer. Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled in the app’s configuration; there is no in-game save-transfer feature.

Deleting a save slot removes that run and its checkpoints from the playable list, but does not clear historical high scores or personal best times, or guarantee erasure of every recovery copy. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app removes its local data. Do not uninstall or clear storage to troubleshoot progress you want to keep.

Opening privacy or support links launches your browser. The browser and website handle that connection under their own privacy practices; the app does not attach saves or player details. Your Android device, operating system and app distributor may process diagnostics and service information under their policies and your settings. Emailing support is optional and separate from local game saves, as described below.

iPhone, iPad & Mac saves

Your runs, checkpoints, high scores and settings are stored on your device. The app does not send your gameplay or saves to the developer. Version 1.0.5 on iPhone, iPad and Mac has no in-game cloud synchronization. Game Center leaderboards do not transfer adventure saves between devices.

The app keeps a local recovery copy of saved progress. Deleting a save slot removes its run and checkpoints from the playable save list; it does not clear past high scores or promise secure erasure of every recovery or device-backup copy. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes its app data from the device. On Mac, removing the app may leave its saved data in your user Library. Device backups may retain app data according to your backup settings.

Optional Game Center best times

Version 1.0.5 on iPhone, iPad and Mac offers optional Game Center leaderboards for time trials. Earlier versions may not include this feature. You can play offline and keep personal bests on your device without connecting.

If you choose CONNECT under Apple Services and sign in to Game Center, eligible completed time trials automatically send their elapsed time to Apple’s Game Center for the selected level and difficulty. Online boards cover levels 1–30 separately for Casual, Normal and Extreme. Apple associates submitted times with your Game Center player profile. Your Game Center nickname, avatar and scores may be visible to other Game Center users. Opening a leaderboard displays Apple’s Game Center interface.

The game does not send these results or your Game Center profile to a developer-operated server, and the developer does not receive your Apple Account password. Adventure saves and checkpoints stay local. Deleting a local save, personal best or the app does not delete a time already submitted to Game Center.

You can manage Game Center or sign out in your device’s Settings or System Settings. Signing out stops future submissions while signed out; it does not erase existing scores. Apple processes Game Center information under its Game Center & Privacy policy.

Apple TV saves and backups

Your local saves

Your runs, checkpoints, high scores and settings are stored on this Apple TV. The game keeps current and previous local save copies.

A bounded emergency copy in app preferences helps recover progress if tvOS removes cached files. If a large save no longer fits, the last fitting emergency copy is kept and may contain older progress. A storage warning means full recovery needs an iCloud backup.

Optional iCloud backup

If BACK UP TO ICLOUD is available in the main menu, you can upload all three save slots, their runs and checkpoints, and the local high-score board to your private iCloud storage. Separate app settings stay on this Apple TV.

Settings recorded inside a saved run, such as its pulse mode, travel with that run. The separate app-preferences storage is not part of the iCloud backup.

Apple handles your iCloud account and storage. The game checks which account is signed in so a pending choice cannot apply after that account changes. It does not send that account identifier to the developer.

Backups are manual. New progress stays local until you choose to back up again. Replacing an existing iCloud backup asks for confirmation. RESTORE ICLOUD BACKUP asks before replacing all three local slots and high scores. The game does not automatically synchronize with the iPhone or iPad version.

The backup is private to your iCloud account. It is not published, shared with other players, or copied to the developer’s servers. Private backup contents are not available to the developer through Apple’s developer portal. Your iCloud storage allowance and Apple’s policies apply.

Deleting saves

Deleting a slot removes its run and checkpoints from the playable save list. It does not clear past high scores or erase earlier recovery copies. It does not update an existing iCloud backup until you explicitly replace that backup.

Deleting the app removes its app data from this Apple TV. Deleting the app does not delete the iCloud backup. The game has no in-game cloud-delete command. Use Apple’s available iCloud storage controls to manage cloud data. The developer cannot erase data held only in your private iCloud account.

If you contact support

If you email contact@jonclaude.net, I receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. I use that information to answer your request and investigate the problem. My email provider processes the message to deliver and store it. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive personal information.

Support correspondence is separate from the game's saves. Deleting a save, backup or the app does not delete an email you have sent. For questions about a support message or to request its deletion, contact me at the same address.

Apple and external websites

Apple handles App Store purchases, Game Center, device backups, iCloud storage and diagnostics under Apple’s own policies and your settings. TestFlight also processes beta feedback and diagnostics through Apple. This game does not add its own analytics service. If you visit a support website or send email, that separate service handles the connection under its own privacy practices.
